Weleda - food for the skin

I couldn't resist picking up Weleda's Skin Food when I passed by it at Whole Foods. It came with a sample tube of the citrus body lotion plus $1 off coupon, so why not?

Skin Food spreads easily and has a herbal citrus smell, which the scent doesn't linger long after application. I use this mainly on my hands and legs. My all-time favorite hand cream is L'occitane's Shea Butter hand cream, and I must say Skin Food works just as well, if not better, because of the price tag.

Packed with sunflower oil, sweet almond oil, and organic calendula flower extract, the cream sinks into the skin quickly without greasy after feel, and my hands feel so much more comfortable and nourished immediately. Skin Food has also helped a lot with the severely dry patches on my legs, calming and providing essential moisture to protect the skin. I would think the size of the tube is too small to be an overall body cream, but it'll be perfect to treat winter hands, elbows, and any dry patches.

Ingredients: Water (Aqua), Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower), Lanolin, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond), Alcohol, Beeswax (Cera Flava), Glyceryl Linoleate, Hydrolyzed Beeswax, Fragrance (Parfum)*, Viola Tricolor, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary), Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria), Calendula Officinalis, Cholesterol, Limonene*, Linalool*, Geraniol*, Citral*, Coumarin

  1. Aw I have this skin food cream too. I think the cream is quite heavy but helps a lot with severe dry patches as you said. I love this because I think is a "healthy cream" if this makes sense haha Nice review!

    1. Hi Xin, haha yes, healthy cream indeed!

  2. I have always wanted to try Weleda! They have a pretty popular hand cream.
